Default ALMOST SLIPPIN!

So a week ago i took my s2000 to the mountains, almost ate it coming out of a s- turn? figured that the road was a little wet that mightve caused that? and Tonight i was on a local street following a 2008-20010 5 series BMW, he made a quick sharp right turn going about 30mph? and I did the same, as i turned i was trying to straighten out , but my cars rear gave way and shook from side to side and i counter steered and made it, (luckily that street was wide). the conditions were Raining but not too hard, Yet i still couldnt make it going 30mph? WTF?.. Is it the RAIN? or is it my Tires? RIKEN RAPTOR? None of my friends heard of it, which im assuming sucks? Any advice? Should i switch my tires? or are S2000's normally a little wild when its wet? But cmon 30mph?!

crap tyres are not what you want on the rear of an s2000, especially in the wet.

the car is tail happy (RWD, short wheelbase), take it easy in the wet and get some good rubber.

There's your problem. Playing in the rain only causes problems. The S is already tail happy and gets worse in less than perfect conditions.

"quick sharp right turn"?.....what like a 90degree turn
at 30 mph in wet conditions?????

yeah...that's crazy...you're gonna lose the rear-end!

Sharp right at 30mph unless you're tracking is crazy!

X2.
From the join date, I'm guessing you're new to the S, new to rwd or new to driving in the wet?

Get new rubber and don't cowboy it in the wet/ snow.

Before you get new tires, on a raining day (or whenever the same conditions apply) find a LARGE EMPTY parking lot and put your car into a few spins to learn how the car reacts. A few spins will teach you quite a bit.

wtf is a RIKEN RAPTOR? Sounds like the name for a fake motorcycle in a crappy video game or something.

Riken Raptors are basically budget "ultra high performance summer tires" or so they claim. From the reviews I have read, the cost and the cars these tires are usually put on, I am inclined to say these are less than stellar tires. I would say tires are partially to blame, but most of it is just the fact that rain + tail happy car (S2000) = trouble.
