Ive always had tinted windows, but I guess in the S2K it just seems silly b/c the roof comes off and lets all the sun in. I never bought tint for privacy, only for UV/ sun protection and to keep the car a little cooler. That's probably the major reason why people do/dont buy tint.
help keep the car cooler.

i had the previous rides windows tinted, and it was only a monte carlo and i got pulled over all the time for it, so why bother go through all that hassle for my weekend cruiser?

NW and NE and points in between or Canada and above, can probably more easily get by without a tint.
Where I live and much of the USA for that matter, summers can be brutal. Not good to allow unfiltered sunlight into the car even though, you may be aware of the possible damages over time that sunlight may cause.
Occasional top down for me on these sweltering days but always stay aware that too much of a good thing might not be the best for the interior of your car.
I just had mine tinted a month ago in preperation for this next ungodly hot summer that I don't want my car to have to go through again.

At night rearward visibility is poor at the best of times, its illegal to tint the fronts most places, and if its sunny and warm the top and windows are probably going to be down. Not worth it IMO.

I don't have any tints on the windows or windscreen. However, I bought a hardtop from another member that has a very dark tint, probably 5%. I don't really find it that hard to see out of at night, but that might be because I forgot just how clear it was through my non-tinted soft top window.
