To all you guys who traded your 00 in for an 02
I'm thinking about trading mine in for an 02. How much did you guys put down w/ your 00 or 01 trade in, and did your payments go up? Thanks

I didn't get much a good deal since I am in SoCal.
$9000 total out the door.
get the 02 at $1000 under MSRP.
they give me $24000 for my 00 with 19k miles
no payment, already paid all.
good luck and hope you get a better deal than me.

I sold my '01 private party so I can't speak to that. I would highly advise you to do the same. A dealer isn't likely to give you much for your trade in despite the fact that it's the same bungholes that were probably selling the car for over MSRP when you bought it. Ahh.. the free market. Gotta love it.
My payment is pretty much the same. The MSRP of the '02 was only a couple of hundred over the MSRP for my '01 and I didn't pay over for either car. I did put more down on the '02 than I did on the '01 and got a better I/R so at the end of the day, I pay less. The problem is that I pissed away quite a bit of $ on registration/license, and taxes. Oh well, such is life.
Good luck.

just curious because you are going to lose atleast 5-6k dollars before the deal is done.

So, realistically, I would expect a total loss of about $13,000 over 2 years...

I traded my '00 for the '02 for lots of reasons. The dealer gave me $26k for the '00 and I had nearly 39k miles on it!
The reasons I traded up was for the color and rear window! I love the new color!
My '00 was paid and I am now paying a whopping $156 per month. I should have it paid for in about a year, can't wait!!!
