I am buying a stook real soon and I would like to know a couple of thingh b4 I purchase so I have a couple of questions if I may ask: 1.What kind of car do you drive? 2.How much is your insurance monthly? 3. Do you have any moving violations? 4.How ola are you? The reason I ask is I am gonna be 21 in August and I would like to know about how much my Insurance would be. My former car was a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse that I got a speeding ticket with (85 in a 55 through CT) any information would be greatly appreciated

Since this is an s2000 board, question one is obvious. You are comparing apples to oranges on what people pay. There are way too mnay factors and the best way to see what you will pay for insurance is to call your agent. You rate is determined by how old you are, past dribing history, any additional vehicles, how the vehicle is used, how mnay miles a year you drive, garaged, where you live, is a house on the same policy, etc. Just call your agent.

I agree with Ianbrown.
Although I am 27, have one ticket, live in LA. I pay 2k per year for my car ins. I've been with my company a while also. When my ticket comes off they say I will be paying 1600 for the year.
Hope that helps. By the way, at 21, unless you live in the stix, you are going to get reamed for car insurance, IMO

I was quoted $1500/yr by my insurance company: Allstate. I had them quote the average amount of coverage. I've had their car insurance for the past 11 years and have not had any tickets or accidents!
I don't know why insurance for the S2000 is so high given my record and am going to shop around (anyone have suggestions?). I do live in a high auto theft area of the U.S., not far from the mexican border where many cars end up! Perhaps that is the reason for the high rates!

Do a topic search for "insurance". About 3-4 months ago there was a very long thread with a lot of feedback. Just saying "Call your agent" is an answer; however, having some good background material helps you to evaluate if you'll be wasting your time shopping around and gives you leads on who to call first. As a result of that thread I saved somewhere between $500-$600 annually. An informed buyer is the best kind. Check it out.
