Alignment problem following transmission TSB
#1
Who has had an alignment problem following the transmission repair? Even before seeing it posted up in the Planning Room by Power6Spd, it seemed to me that my car was slightly out of alignment. Following the work that was done, it now seems to have a tendency to drift to the right. I guess I'll be calling my Honda dealer tomorrow about this.

I actually had not noticed a problem with the alignment, but when they did teh test drive afterward they noticed an alignment problem and fixed it before I picked the car up. Interesting that it is happening to so many.Mine was pulling to the right too according to the mechanic.

That's weird. I had my tranny excanged for the improved one (the whole box) and the whole job was carried out at my presence. They didn't even touched a single suspension part, so for me no alignment was needed. What was the suspension part tha was getting in their way and they had to remove?
Additionally you might want to know that over here they are recalling the S2000 to exchange the tranny with a new one which has not only upgrated parts on the 2nd gear synchros but also a beefier oil pump to maintain appropriate oil flow at extended high speed runs. I did the swap 2 months ago and the new tranny shows no hint of grinding gears no matter what.

I also had the alignment problem after the 1-2 fix. They have to disconnect the steering to drop the tranny. Car's still in the shop to fix all the things they screwed up. Hope to get it back Saturday morning so I can meet up with Mingster etc. The shop foreman said they won't go home until the car is done. (Ya right!)

It's the steering wheel that is out of alignment not the suspension.
They have to disconnect the steering shaft to get to the transmission, but they forget to mark it, and so when they put it back together the steering wheel is off.
Lousy job. Has happened to me.
