Alarm Won't Turn Off!

Alarm Won't Turn Off!
I have a 2000 S2000 with 7200 miles on it. Today I uncovered it and was ready to take it for a ride. I had a trickle charger on but clearly it was not enough. I open the door and the alarm goes off and I cannot shut it off for about 15 seconds.
I charged the battery and the same thing happens. I can even start the car now but the alarm still goes off WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. I look in the manual and the index that points to the alarm page (p. 113) actually points to the audio system page (WTF?!?). I search this board and there's little or no information about the issue.
Someone please help. Thanks.

try the under the hood or electronics sub-forums, probably best in the electronics as you may find someone who does alarm installs and might know how to best advice you. In s2k talk we don't know jack.

Figured it out. I got four alarm fobs with the car. Apparently the one I was using doesn't shut off the alarm in these circumstances, which is amazing because I have been using it for more than a year.
It would have been really nice if Page 113 ("Alarm") had talked about this instead of about radio security - I don't even have a factory radio.

as an fyi--the two with the trunk logo are the ones that came with the car from the factory and won't arm or disarm the alarm--they just lock and unlock the doors--the ones with "option" on the extra button are the alarm ones---they are factory parts as well but the car doesn't have the alarm installed til it's here (by either the dealer or the previous owner ) and they give you two new remotes with it.
unfortunately, the original remotes can't be reprogrammed to work with the alarm.
glad you figured it out--I'm sure it was baffling for a while!!
