I have a Clifford Intelliguard 7000.
I had the factory alarm, but according to some people I know (they were known to "borrow" a car here and there in the past), the factory alarm on most cars is good for one thing - opening your doors.
Thats about it.
My adivce: With a car like this, do everything you can to protect it. This is not the time to save money. Spend a couple hundred more now, and save thousands (and many headaches) later.
I have ignition, starter, and fuel cut-off.
Also, the alarm comes with a code you must enter any time you start the car, or it shuts everything down in 20 seconds.
Its completely computer controlled, so I can hook up a laptop to it and modify/change any options on it.

I had the Viper 600 series with motion detector installed for around $400 and I really like it. [QUOTE]Originally posted by damage__inc:

I installed an Alpine 8081... One of the last grandiose Alpines that interfaced into the Navigation system. I also put a solenoid on the gas door pull + hood pull so my alarm remote ext 1 pops the trunk, ext 2 pops the gas door, and ext 3 pops the hood. This also made for not easy way to get into the hood without the remote (unless you are me and know where the solenoid is located).
With the electrical troubleshoting Helm supplement (additional to the service manual) you know what EVERY wire in the car does...

This is a great idea. Where did you get the solenoids for the job? Thanks.
