Default Aftermarket Headunit Poll:

If you have an aftermarket headunit
What kind do you have?

if you don't have an aftermaket headunit
What kind would you suggest?

I'm gonna be running a 250 X 2 Amp to the front speakers and rear speakers, and I want an aftermarket headunit

I have always been a fan on Alpine head units, over here in the UK this has the added benefit of allowing me to retain the audio controls on the dash. Unfortunately I understand the majority of US Alpine head units don't support this facility.

Given you say you are going to use an offboard amp to drive the speakers I would recommend the Apline CDA-7969 as this is a high end unit with no built in amplification.

BTW You say you have a 250x2 amp, are you going to connect both front and rear speakers to this? If so you may only be running at 2ohm - be sure your speakers are rated to the 2ohm outout of the amp

JVC KD-MX3000

This is a headunit which swallows CDs and MDs...

I also updated my speakers with separates: Woofers where the original (crap) speakers go and tweeters at the top of the panel.

What do I read on Autoexpress.co.uk??

Standard 2002 UK S2000: CD/MD headunit as well as woofers and tweeters in the doorpanels, exactly where I put them!!!

They COPIED MY CAR!!!!!!

Hehehe....

Wow did you open a can of opinions!

I'd suggest only go with a CD/MP3 head. I like the JVC and Kenwood models.
