Default Aftermarket CATs question

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know what you guys thought.... do ppl still prefer aftermarket cats over their stock s2k cat or is the stock s2k cat good enough not to replace?

thanks

In the over 4 years I've been here, I've never heard of anyone using an aftermarket cat. The stock cat is already a very high flow design, so one wouldn't go to another kind for performance gains. I can see where an owner may go to an aftermarket one for cost savings as the stock one is quite expensive to replace.

If you replace the stock cat with anything and expect gains, go with a testpipe; there are 2 brands available for under $100 now. Megan which is resonated, and Berk which has a built-in mechanical O2 simulator.
