Has anyone taken their car in for repair work after they've installed the console cover?
Just wondering if there are there any "protective" measures that we should take when it is time to take the car in to the shop. Should we cover it with something (plastic?) or actually remove it prior to taking it in? I'm curious if it's easy to reinstall (does the double stick tape need to be reapplied, or ?)
I have my doubts that the service guys would be very careful with the leather cover if the console needed to be removed.
I don't want anything to happen to my beautiful new leather console cover!

I installed mine before the seat belt fix. No real problems, they indented the leather reinstalling the console but it relaxed back out.

I am not going to take my car apart everytime I take it in.

No problem. Took mine to San Francisco Honda for the seatbelt recall and there was no problem with the leather consule cover.

Since the seats have to be removed before they can do the seat belt fix, I'm thinking of taking mine out myself first, so that the monkeys at the dealership don't damage the leather on them. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to drive the car to the dealership, though....

Not that it related, but in Monterrey,MX it's very common to see school bus frames going down the freeway at 70+ mph, driven by kids wearing helmets sitting on a wooden box. It's halarious to see. Apparently they take them accross town to another construction plant for further assembly.
