i no this is an old post, but i did a search for noise, as i can hear like a screeching/whisling noise from under the hood/bonnet from my 2001 s2000 now to, and i have the standard air box and filter on??? its realy loud and annoying and doesnt go away no matter were i am in the power band (revs) it also happens in all gears and only goes away when am not accelerating, did any one find the cause of this? or find out the problem? car was fine up untill afew days ago!

It may be really hard to diagnose over the internet unless you can get a video to post where we can hear it.

Try posting in the UK forum and see if there is an owner with more mechanical experience who can meet you and listen to your car.

 

thanks for the response, i dont no how to up load video!?!:S the sound has only just recently came present? and i havent touched the airbox or filter well i did take it off and replace the filter but that was a few eeks ago, the noise doesnt seem to be coming from the intake imo seems more transmission ways to me but i could be wrong its more like a whining than a wise and sometimes sounds like its coming from the rear? maybe the diffrencial? i realy am pissing in the wind here and have no clue were its coming from but its anoying and only happens under ecceleration right the way through the revs and gears and gets louder and louder the more i push it. ill repost in th uk section to but thought you guys might have a better clue than us brits seems as you turbo your s2ks thanks any ways and hope to find a cure or find out were its coming from soon and will post it if i do
