What I was sayin was.... If the water level is high enough like that, it'll get to your CAI no matter what bumper you have.

Hmmm,
I am through wasting my time with you guys. Everything I have said is true whether you guys believe me or not, OHH WELL. Life goes on. This is a board where your suppose to share experiences, pictures, thoughts, recommendations, etc, etc. I did just that and what do you guys do? ENOUGH SAID HERE.
Some of you guys do need to grow up. Jumping all over a post that was actually TRUE is very immature in my eyes especially if it actually happened. Plus I was just letting some of you guys know (that have the AEM) what can happen if your not careful. Sorry just my opinion.
C3 interesting. I have a lot of friends that live in Escondido. How is East Valley Parkway these days? Is the Family Fun Center still there? The one right off of 78 on your right?

Thanks Moonpie. I will try and post more pics. I want to get pics around the North Shore area or even Waimea. I don't know maybe I will go this Saturday if its not raining.
Even here I get jealous people. There are jealous people everywhere you go.

I will try and get pics of my S2000 with one of my friends S2000's. He has the full Cwest kit as well and a CF hood. It looks really nice(he has the new silver one). I almost wanted to go trade mine in for the new silver or even the new blue looks nice but all of the S2000's here are sold out except for one or two used ones. I think there are maybe 30 total S2000's here on Oahu. All very nice people.

I also just bought the new factory car cover yesterday. I am getting tired of the rain.

Hey JDMs2000 thanks for the heads up on the AEM. I know it's not the AEM's fault, but it is a good warning that this actually can happen.

I was thinking about ordering the AEM CAI from Bulletproof and had asked about the bypass valve. They mentioned that installing the bypass valve would result in power loss? Does anyone know if that is true? How much does the bypass valve help in reducing the risk of water in the engine?

It depends on who you want to believe. THere are theories that go both ways on the bypass valve eliminating the water potential. I'm not even going to risk doing the CAI to begin with.

Two things to remember:
1. JDMS2000s car didn't hydrolock. He got his plugs wet and the car wouldn't start. Hydrolocking would result in a broken motor.
2. Hydrolock was a virtual non-issue until AEM made and marketed a product to fix it. Now it gets talked about alot but very rarely happens.

Don't buy the hype. JDMS2000s experience (though surely frightening and a pain in the ass) didn't result in permanent damage. While probably more slightly more likely than hydrolock, even JDMs experience is truly rare.

I wouldn't let fear of engine damage (from hydrolock) influence my buying decision one way or the other. If you want to consider a likely source of engine damage, make sure the CAI comes with a proper filter and properly maintain it.
