Hey guys,
Today, I just found out that something scraped my bumper. First I saw there was some dirt and dust, cleaned it off and wa la, a bunch of microscratches. I was pretty pissed. THe finish on the bumper where the scrape occured is now a little rough and dull. Is there anyway I can fix these microscratches on the bumper and make it smooth and shiny again like the rest of the bumper? Please help

I've come across the same problem with certain inconsiderate people in my locale. If the scratches aren't too deep, a good buffing and a nice coat of wax will make it look good as new...something deeper and you may have to repaint.

General rule is that if the scratch is in the paint it's unfixeable outside a repaint. If it's on the paint, use a swirl remover. If it still doesn't work use a cleaner. But if it's just dull, you can use a polish then wax. It's the polish that will make it less dull.

If you're lucky, it's just the clear coat that's damaged. If polishing fails, you can flat it back with wet or dry, & apply more clear coat from an arseole, sorry, aerosol can. This can work a treat, but be very, very careful rubbing down and cutting in the new clearcoat. If the base coat is scratched, sorry, it's definitely pay a professional.

I had some scratches from what I think may have been an errant shopping cart. Anyway, a coat of Zaino Z5 took care of it completely.

If you're gonna try buffing it out always start with the weakest stuff. Ie. polish. If it doesn't do it go to a swirl remover etc.
