Advice on pricing my car
Just wondering how much you guys think I could get for my s2k.
2003 GPW with tan (best color combo lol) with 31100 miles
-hardtop
-rear factory spoiler
-front factory lip but is cracked underneath from a high parking curb but you can't tell unless you lay on teh ground and look or feel
-chromed AP1 wheels done by previous owner
-no accidents, clean title and carfax which I have, car runs great.
-all four tires are pratically new Fuzions ZRi with less than 3000 miles on them
-just had the brake and clutch fluid flushed, engine oil (Mobil 1 syn), diff oil (mobil 1) and tranny oil(new honda manual tranny fluid), air and cabin filters all changed less than 3000 miles ago by professional honda mechanic
I'm located in Sacramento California.
I was hoping to get at least $20,000 with the hardtop, is that too high?
Thanks
Joe

Hmm....03 with low miles and HT...I think 20k is right on the money. Some people might want it cheaper, but....i think its fair...even with the chrome wheels!

20 sounds fair... i bet the 9k rpm is a good selling point... but there are used ap2's going for 26-27... then again now i think about it that is a pretty big difference... i say 20 is fair

I think you would get somewhere close to 18.5K to 19K for a 31K miles 2003? Afterall, this is an 5 year old car and has been through a major revision after 2003 (no, not starting an AP1 vs AP2 thread here). If you come think of it, the S2000 puts up a hell of a fight in holding the prices considering the car's design has been around for so long, is a sportscar, and there are seriously abundant of those.
Check out eBay's completed listings' prices. Those are usually a good benchmark ... since those are prices that actually dealt. What you see in auctions that are going on probably just have insanely low bids or unreal-high offers.
I know we all love our Ss, and think they are worth more than what they are really worth (on a monetary basis) ...
Good luck!

Asking prices always depend on who's asking.
A motivated buyer will pay the price. Sell it high to the sucker that will pay it.
As a used car salesman once said, "Stick it in and Turn it 'til they no longer run
Green".

You're selling your car joe?!?!?!
If I were you, I'd sell the hardtop to someone on s2ki first for at least 2k. Then try to sell your car for $19k on craigslist. With your car having such low mileage, you're coming to the price point of used ap2's.
Then again, white and tan is pretty rare
But hey, don't sell your car
