I am thinking about taking out the yellow corners. The only thing stopping me is that I am concerned about the lights being out of alignment after I'm done. Does anyone know if the lights need adjusting after removing the yellow corners?

Once you take the lights apart, you do not need to readjust anything.

When you take them apart, you do not actually touch the HID unit. It stays in there and you work around it.
So no worries there.
