I have right now 1100 miles and the other day I was missing like 2 X's of oil and I decided to buy oil in case it goes lower than its supose to. I got Mobil 1 regular oil since they say Mobil 1 is the oil Honda uses. After I get my next oil change for free at the dealership I will use RedLine for the rest of the life of the car.

2 x's is lower than it is supposed to be although being 2 x's low probably wont hurt the engine with moderate driving.

Honda's OE oil is not Mobil 1 - it is mineral-based oil mfd for Honda by Mobil - probably closer to Drive Clean. Mobil 1 is a synthetic, and Honda does not rec any synth until 10K. Just wanted to make sure there is no confusion on that point.

Mobil 1 is the real deal. It IS synthetic and it is fabulous stuff, but its so good that if you use it before 10k your car isn't going to break into the performance peak as quickly as you would like it too. I would think that to be the case for other high quality synthetic lubes as well.

I am planning on replacing with whatever the dealer uses at 3750 and 7500 then switching to Mobil 1 at 10k.

(The dealership that sold me my car does the first two for free.)
