I love how everyone is trying to give better driving techniques now haha
It could have happened to anybody, even the most experienced driver. If you pulled it out of gear real fast before the motor had time to sit at redline than i think that you may be ok. If your worried about it just go get your heads checked. It should be rather cheap and easy. Good Luck

from personal experience.. more than likely, you're ok.
like what most said, comp and leak down test. that way you'll have an idea of what's going on with it...
if you feel like there's some powerloss in the higher rpm band.... valve adjustment will be able to retrieve some of that power back... this ALSO is from personal experience... unfortunately.

A) Don't feel bad... mis-shifts happen... even to the best of us.
B) As suggested you must definitely wanna run some diagnostics [Leakdown, compression]
C) Your mechanical rev's shot up to +/- 10K Rpm's, that's high on an AP2. If this is the cars first mis-shift, it's PROBABLY fine, but you don't know the condition of it before hand.

^ or you could go from 6th to 3rd. At 70mph thats VTEC and "passing zone"
And going from 6th to 3rd you cant misshift because 1st is locked out anyway right?

Down the road? 70mph first gear shift? I'm pretty sure that'd take the block with it... I don't even know what kind of hammer fisted gear changes your friend is making to engage first gear without ever noticing "this isn't right".

You must have slammed it into 2nd since at that speed it should not slip nicely in. And you were probably pissed so you made the mad shift.
I was told by an Acura Tech once to NEVER skip gears when shifting up or down. Always hit each. It will be much nicer on your syncros and you will not have this issue again.
