in an accident and have Air bag question?
#1
ok.... i was in a solo accident lastnight. tha weather had a lill to do with it.. see i basically hydroplaned into a jersey barier , front first, spun around and whacked tha rear drivers side then continued to spin across tha 3 lane road and onto tha hard median.. But tha air bag never deployed even with tha hard impact to tha front. so i was wondering if there is a certain spot on tha front that has to get hit in order for tha air bag to deploy? i would post pics but i dont know how to on here.. so if some one could help me out than you can look at tha pics and let me know what yall think..

im very big on morals.
are you injured in anyway? if so i would understand you trying to sue honda. but if u are just trying to get compensation for the damage to your car because of and accident you caused, den tahts just wrong.
but ya i think its 15 mph front impact for air bags to deploy.
*i think* someone might have a more correct answer

well. when i rear ended a truck with my civic and had the whole front pushed back in with the lights cracking and my hood bent outta shape airbags didnt deploy neither did my seatbelts catch me. but like elizer said.. i wasnt hurt or anything so i just let it go. then.. when i flipped my first s2000 about 10 or so times completely totally the car from front to back with the whole front pushed back almost to the end.. nothing deployed but my seatsbelts caught me. both instances were not fully my fault .. meaning i did not do anything stupid or anything to cause it just merely attempting to avoid other peoples stupid driving behavior.
basically, trying to sue for something like this will be time consuming and maybe not too successful. if you're fine, count your blessings and let it go and good luck on your repairs!

For the airbag to deploy, the car has to decelerate at a certain rate. This can only happen if you have a severe head-on collision (this is not speed specific). The airbag companies have worked hard to prevent airbag deployment otherwise, because the airbag itself is known to injure passengers and drivers. If you didn't run into something hard enough to throw you into the windshield (if you weren't belted), then it should not have gone off.
And let's see....you had a solo accident where you were driving too fast for conditions, causing an at-fault accident which will ultimately result in the insurance rates of every S2000 owner to go up.
And you want to sue the manufacturer, not because you got killed or severely injured, but because you want to make money at someone else's expense. And that someone else would ultimately be the consumer.
Do us all a favor and get a different model car.
