WannaS2000,
Your right, an S2000 could not hang with a Z06, but it also wouldn't get trounced on in the handling department either. Raw power, well that is obvious, but handling - I think the two cars are quite similar in capability. Like I said, Corvettes have a much larger patch of rubber on the ground. I think the salolmn (sp?) is where the two would perform almost identically, but I have been trying to find those numbers and can't....so I could be completely wrong.
Nix

news2kroller,
People say the diff is weak (I don't know from experience), however there are many people on this board that have done tons of launches and managed to keep it all in one piece. The thing to remember is that if you are launching, THE WORST thing you can do is not break the tires loose cause then your diff and trany soak up all that torque you just created. Do your drops at 6-7K. Think of it like your hand and a board....hit the board fast enough and the board snaps, your hand is fine. Don't hit the board fast enough your hand snaps (diff), and board is fine. Oh, and by the way, I just got back from a 3 hour drive through the blue ridge mountains in Va. I didn't plan this drive at all, I simply left work and could not make myself get out of the car because I love it so much. Pure nimble sports car - yes, reason to not get it - no.

I think you should be able to get this for under 38k no problem. Especially if you get an 02.
Edited: Just noticed that you were from Cali...that may be a different story. If you're willing to drive a car from Chicago area, then you should be able to get one for 2-3k under sticker. With the hardtop, just ask for sticker. Then you will pay taxes later on.
