First off, hello to everyone and this really is a great board. I'm about to take the plunge on an S2000 and was wondering if you guys think 1) 82k miles is a lot for these cars (I don't think so, a) b/c they're Hondas and b) I see many w/ a lot more than that) and 2) if 12.5k is a good price for one in my fav. color combo (black w/ red interior) that is in good shape and has that many miles?

I think I'm going to go check it out, take it to a nearby Honda dealer maybe (to have them take a look at it, I don't know who else to take it to) and then do it. I'm looking in GA (Atlanta) and near the Gainesville, FL area (i.e. Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville). An Acura dealer here had an 02 w/ 72k miles on it for 12,995 but it sold in like a day or two. I would prefer to buy private party though if possible.

As long as you test drive well, see the maintenance history of the car, and make sure there hasn't been any major accidents, it's fine. It's a Honda engine; it will last for a long time.

Just a word of warning though, make sure you have excess cash when you buy the car. The urge to mod the car is very strong I tell you, and you don't want to end up being car poor.

 

I forgot to mention, it is a a 2000 model year. I also found one on eBay for 13.9k (also 2000) but it has 69k miles on it. I'm not sure if 13k miles are worth 1.4k though. That one is silver/red which I also love.
