So, I was thinking about my great looking clear USDM diffusers from Rick's Accessories and was wondering just how much time had passed. Seems like I've had them on my S2000 forever, but in reality, it's only been 8 months.

So, how are they after 8 months? Excellent!

My clear diffusers are the actual prototype diffusers. We had no idea what would happen with them. Would they melt? Discolor? Not diffuse the light properly? We really did'nt know and we did it anyway!

But the install went swell and here I am, 8 months later, still very happy and the diffusers look awesome.

Here's the original thread started by Rick Hesel. CLICK HERE. Thanks again Rick!

I have to admit that I like the smoked diffusers (which were introduced later) and even the JDM versions. But I just can't let my babies go. I think it's pretty damn cool that I have the original set of diffusers on my S2000 and better yet that they still look GREAT! Here's the most recent pics I have.

Since Rick's introduction of this superb mod, several folks have installed them, or have had them installed. There are now four different choices available:
  • USDM Clear
  • USDM Smoked
  • JDM Clear
  • JDM Smoked

w1ngman has an excellent thread promoting his install services that shares pictures of several diffusers, take a look here; CLICK HERE! These diffusers look excellent on any color S2000.

If you've been on the fence about buying a set, get off and order a set. You'll love them and your S2000 will look awesome. Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words. I never thought it would go like it has. I have the second sets installed on mine. They look the same as the day I installed them.

Airgate, what bulbs did you use?

Thanks.

I ended up with amber bulbs. Not sure on the model of them but I took out the "hyper-blue" bulbs about 5 hours after we put them in. I hated the look of them on my car and settled for the clear bulbs.

However, as soon as I found someone selling the amber bulbs (at a whopping $25, might I add) I bought them. You can now find these bulbs for around $5-6 at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts.

I love how the amber comes thru the clear diffuser, very MB/BMW like, IMO.

Still loving mine! USDM smoked. Removing the orange did so much for this car.

Man, has it been that long? It's seems like yesterday that we gathered at James' place to do this job (well we watched while he did all the work)

Rick,

Are you willing to reveal what % of diffusers have been sold in what colors and styles? (I'm trying to decide between USDM and JDM style, but I want clear, not smoked.)
