I will be sending my car in for servicing tomorrow.

1)Is there anything I should watch out for?

2)Should I use the fluids that they provide or buy my own? Not sure what they would use.
Would like the best for my car if possible.

It is winter hell here in my area.

thanks for any input.

Actually, my recollection of the manual is that the only thing they do at 7500 mi. is change the oil. Why not do it yourself? I did.

The main thing to watch out for is the infamous 50-mile test drive. Many people here suggest writing your mileage on a sticky-note and sticking it on the speedometer as a not-so-subtle warning to joy riders.

I believe the 7500 service is minimal, consisting of an oil change and a tire inspection.

You may want them to replace the oil filter when they do the oil change (the schedule doesn't call for it). Also, many owners suggest changing over to synthetic oil now. As to the brand of oil to use, you might want to get other opinions or do a search for this topic, and read up what others recommend.

Maybe now is the time to get any TB work done, if you've had any problems.

Now that I'm warming up to this topic, a few other things to watch out for:

1. Many have reported that dealers underfill the crankcase. Check your dipstick before you leave. The manual says it takes 5.1 quarts, but the real amount is 5.5.

2. Some especially clueless dealers seem to think they should rotate the tires. Tell them not to, and check the directional arrows when you pick up the car to make sure they didn't.

3. As 1Y2KS2K said, this might be a good time to switch to synthetic. If so, it's probably easier and cheaper to bring your own. But there's no hurry for that -- you can change over any time.

4. I would expect Honda to use their own brand of oil, which should be fine. Doesn't hurt to check, though. There's no point in saving a few bucks on a filter. They should change it.

5. Make sure you tell the service manager to close the hood properly -- by dropping it from 18 inches or so. If the mechanic pushes it closed with his hand, it will dent the hood.

Anyone out there have more?

Go to a Honda service department that you know and trust.

For my 7500 mile service I went to the same service department that I have used for the past several years. They already knew that all that was required at 7500 miles was an oil and filter change.

Your cost for 7500 mile service should be between $20 and $30.
