600 Miles Breakin - Is it safe complete this in 1 or 2 days?
I ordered a Suzuka from Georgia and will drive it back when it arrives. Is it safe to perform the breakin in 1 or 2 days? I plan to take back roads to vary the RPM (under 5,000). Is there a max speed not to exceed or just watch the RPM? Can't wait to V when I get home

I did my break-in in 4 days. No highway miles though, I just kept having to "go to the store".
His car did not blow up. 2 bad ignition coils hardly amounts to a car exploding. His is also the first car I've read about having this kind of issue and is probably not related to the break-in period at all. Most people here "VTEC" their cars within a few miles of hitting 600. I know I did. 3700 miles later and the car keeps getting faster.

I did my break-in in one day. I picked up my car in New Orleans, drove back to New York. After the first day, I was in VTEC. I've got 20K miles now and zero problems. Don't sweat it. I did follow the rules though -- varied RPMS, checked oil, etc.
