Default 5grand bog? looking at buying S2000...advice?

I test drove an S2000 today, when i first took it out, i drove maybe a half mile, then got on it...around 5 grand or so, the motor just started bogging, almost felt like a rev limiter or something and it wouldn't go past that...i let off then drove another minute, then tried again...the car drove and revved fine...is that normal? is that a V-Tech thing? or was it just because it was cold. Is there anything else I should look for? The car looks completely stock besides a cold air intake and a couple subs in the trunk that look like a professional install...i'm not much into stereos but it's all rockford and sounds and looks really good...but it does cost some of the already little trunk space. It's at a dealer, so I don't really know anything about the previous owner, but the car doesn't look abused, it's an 01' with about 32,000 miles. Also is there anyway to get rid of that stupid radio door? It's got an aftermarket head unit so the controls on the side don't work.

Its because its cold. If it doesn't have 3 bars of heat (MY00-MY03) it won't let you rev too high to prevent damage.

In regards to the radio door, yes, it is removable but it will look like the hole with the door open. If it is a nice head unit from a major brand and is IR remote capable, you can probably get a Modifry DCI to allow the left side radio controls to work the radio. They are about $100.

Yeah, i didn't know if someone made a trim piece so when you removed your door it didn't look like crap.....thanks for the tip on the controls, i'll definately look into that.

I like the radio door. I also have an Alpine HU, which disabled the side controls. So I got the DCI adapter, which gave me back those controls. I've never done a radio install or any sort of electronics, but it took me about 30-45 minutes to hook up the unit. So now, I keep the radio door closed (looks a lot cleaner, IMO), and use the side controls.
