Default 4 Years later, and the Grinch views his S2000

Year: 2000, Date: Mid Feburary... I purchased my First S2000 (Black). It was my baby, with Zanio as her Groom. 2 Years later, I traded her in at 6k miles for a 2002 S2000 (Silver this time)... I paid a whopping $2k different to 'upgrade'.. Though not necessary, black was a bit of a pain to keep clean (albiet sexier), but a new car for $2k, who could pass that up?

In between, I bought a 2001 Ford Explorer Sporttrac (don't get me started, but I'll never buy a ford again), and now reciently, an '04 RX-8.

Tonight, I went down stairs to get something out of the garage. And, as usual, my S2000 was sitting there. What happened next was like the Grinch at Christmas... A warmth in my chest, and a big smile upon my face as I looked in awe.

What a fabulous machine.

... I can't stay that about any of the other vehicles I've owned.

I feel ya mang..

This past weekend I went shopping and basically spent time with everything...

350Z,RX-8,G35,Corvette,TL,TSX,STI,EVO.. all of them nice and some of them great... The Acura dealership had a red NSX, definitely a "classic" ride.

None of them possess the acute engineering focus and refinement of the S2000, especially after 2002. This car is so ahead of it's time whilst working with so little.. After this weekend's car shopping experience I don't see how it could possibly be worth it to sell this car at any time in the near future.

Although it has its cons, the s2k is an amazing machine and is very fun to drive.

My story is similar to Amartin's, had a 2001 and traded for a 2002 (same color). Among other reasons, I wanted the glass back window and I really, truly like this car.

I've had the '02 for two years now and have driven an RX-8, TL, TSX, WRX STi since buying the S and so far none of them have that certian something you get from an S2000.

Recently I drove a 2004 and it drove fine, not that much of a difference over my 2002 therefore I've no desire to spend any money trading up again. However, if Honda does make some serious improvements in 2005 or 2006 I may be lusting after a new car again.

Back when they first were showing pics of the MY05 Corvette, I hadn't driven the S in a while and I've had that 'Vette urge since I was 14 or so (let's just say I have much less hair now and it's a tad bit lighter that it used to be). So, I show the wife (who's been driving the S) and she likes it. Man, I couldn't believe it, she doesn't like any of the existing ones, but she likes this one. I'm thinking, I'm in like Flynn. 'Vette city here I come. But, I have 2 kids and having two 2-seaters is completely out of the question. So, to get the C6, the S has to go.

Still driving the 'burban, and not getting a lot of sleep due to the dilemma.

So, I get the S back and half way to the office make up my mind. The C6 won't be making an appearance in my garage. The S is just too raw. I love the noise, love the ride, just plain love the feel of the car.
