Default 4.44 gears may be available

I was just reading old post about 4.44's. So I decided to search the web and found this http://www.a-t-s-usa.com/ats-products/gears-final.shtml

Anyone ever heard of them? The price is high. Maybe a group buy can be set up.

Yep. You can get the 4.44 gear set for less than 1/3 the price from KIA, New Zealand according to my contact over there.

I read that in an old thread. I thought maybe it was so old that they were not available anymore. How do I go about ordering them as I am here in the U.S? Do you know the exact cost? I would go for the 4.57s but I am leary of the whine that I keep hearing about. I drive my car everyday. Anyone in SoCal that has 4.57s that would take me for a ride or let me hear the whine?

If you get the Kia 4.44 gears, don't forget to have them Cryo treated

Very good point. Does anyone know where I can get them here domestically? I don't mind ordering them from NZ, but I don't know how to go about doing it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Al

Post that question in the SoCal forum, I think there's someone local that owns a Cryo treatment facility

Well I hope so. I have not ever driven a S2k with non OEM final gears. I am torn between 4.44's and 4.57's.

Keep me updated on this. I am interested in both the price of the gears and the Cryo treatment procedure.

Thanks
