I rented a Z from hertz a few times and even though these ones are tiptronic its a great car! Its more comfortable than an s2000, less noisey, has cruise control and a better stereo and way more room to put stuff, cup holders etc!
It also has instant power at low revs, it seems faster and is more stable at speed (hit 148 in it) and it goes where you point it. The traction control is nice to have there and it seems controllable when you turn it off and get the back out. I would choose it any day over any kind of mustang or an s2000 for highway driving!

For anything else I'd have an s2000 because its lighter and handles better + the opposite of everything above that makes the Z great for long highway drives makes the s2000 more of a thrill!

The S is impractical for just about everything. Thats what I like about it.

Ok, the S has:
-cup holders
-cruise control
-traction control

I will give the Z a better sterio, but it is still not that impressive.

The traction control on the Z can not truely be turned off either unless you totally disable the system. I know this because I owned one. People that try to use the Z for drifting have problems with this.
As far as speed the S is just as fast in a straight line and definitely faster around the track.

Werd.

The Z and the S are very comparable. I test drove both, I liked the torquey feel of the Z....but the S won me over with the top down, street legal go cart fun.

You really can not go wrong with either, I particularly like the looks of the Z in the coupe version versus the vert if the Z is the way you want to go.....in vert form it looks like it is ready to give birth out the rear end.

If you like to super size your meal at fast food, then 350z is your car.
S2000 is a front mid engine car, with engine behind the front axle, 50/50.

350z vs s2000
306hp vs 237hp
3580 lb. vs 2855 lb.
Big mama vs Hotties.

LOL, you are SO right.

I'd much rather compare the S2000 to the Porsche GT3. At our last Evolution school one of my instructors brought the GT3 she was going to drive in the Nationals. After cutting a hot lap in my S2000 she grined at me and expressed her amazement that my car was even more responsive than her nationally competative Porsche GT3. Now, let's compare the GT3 to the 350Z.

Does ANYONE think it makes any sense (at all) to compare the 350Z to the Porsche GT3?
How does it make any more sense to compare it to the S2000?

Drive them both, and if you can't decide after a test drive, then buy the 350Z. If the S2000 doesn't steal your heart it's probably not the right car for you.
