I have driven the BMW 335i coupe over 15 times, I use to LOVE that car. But after a while, I got bored of that car for some reason (even with all the luxuries and torque). I got out that car and went back to my s2000, one day, and the s200 felt more fun. The flywheel and the short distance shifter is a plus on the s2000 (most other cars cannot compare to the lightweight flywheel and short distance gears). To me, the 3 series sedans does not get that much looks (well I am from San Diego), but the coupe 335i (the one i drove) was fun and gets more looks, in a 6 speed. VERY torquey, BMW has a lot of low end torque. But honestly the s2000 is the most fun car I ever driven by far, you need to drive one and tell us how you feel.
If you don't mind the less torque and less space, but you mind the convertible and the go-kart like handling, go honda s2000, seriously you will not regret it.

Here's my story.. I have both an E90 335I and an 04 S2k right now. I was going to wait until my lease was up before I got my next car, but I got a pretty good deal on the S2k so I picked it up. I have really been having a hard time deciding what to do..turn the 335 in at lease end, sell the S2k and buy the 335 off lease, sell the S2k and drive the wife's Fit.
So I decided to turn the 335 in and keep the S2k, if I had not dumped $3k into a stereo I might be selling the S2k but it's just not worth it, plus I love the S2k which I will get into later.
The 335 is great as an all around car- it's fast, looks good (interior is boring!) quality is nice, handles well for what it is, just a very solid car. There isn't really anything I dislike, I kept that car the longest and probably could have kept it another few yrs (I usually get bored of a car after 1 yr and ditch it)
Ive noticed that my S2k gets more attention than my 335 especially where I live..3 series all over the place. The S is more fun to drive, looks even better and is cheap to own. I feel good being in a Honda, I felt guilty driving my BMW..maybe since it cost a lot more. The 335 is A LOT faster than the S2k, but one thing I noticed after being in the S2k for a month and out of the BMW is turbo lag. I never noticed it until now. I'm guessing the throttle response of the S2k is a little better, and I do feel the lag in the BMW now.
In all honesty if I could reverse time I might have bought my 335 off lease, however the wife and I are young (27) and are saving up to get a bigger place..so I think hey I'm driving a hot fun car, and saving $ at the same time. I will probably keep the S2k 2 yrs max and pick up a used E90 M3. And yes Silverstone is the hottest!! Anybody want a babied 04 Silverstone with 10k on it?
Good luck, you can't go wrong either way. You will miss a lot from the 335, but will be having so much fun in the S2k.

I have both and am having my 06' s2k kraftwerked right now.I have the sstt tune on my 335i and for 500 bucks it's pretty awesome. They are 2 totally different rides. The 335i is the more practical and faster (but not for long ) but the s2k is definitey the car I take out to just drive for fun.I'm leasing the 335i and it gets returned in Dec after a 2 year lease,I must say I hate to see it go but for pure driving fun S2k all the way !

In my case, I had an '06 S2K and traded it in for a E92 335i. Love the torque and all the goodies, but the fun factor was just not there. I had the manual trans. but the shifting is nothing compared to the S.
And too much weight and body roll on the twisties.
So, i'm going back to an S2k this monday. Picking up an '08.
BTW, if you miss the torque, the Kraftwerk SC is awesome. My friend let me test drive his S with the SC. I was impressed.
GL with your decision.

BMW if you want the "attention.
My S is raw, like a motorcycle and why I love it. I do not want a soft cushy ride with power everything, $100 oil changes, and a car with a "limp mode" - only proof it will break.
