Not unless your garage is VERY shallow. I have about 4 feet between the edge of the door and my top, and another 2 feet to where it mounts to the ceiling. With my car backed in and under the hoist I still have about 3 feet between my back bumper and the wall. Avg garage door is 7 ft, avg garage length 24 ft.

I'd fix the softtop, then continue to save $ for the hardtop. Although I love my hardtop there are plenty of days that going top down is wha's called for. On those days it is nice to be able to put the top up when need be.

hardtop and 4.77s.
take out your softtop, gut your trunk, and remove the front and rear bumper support bars, and empty windshield fluid reservoir. You'll save almost 150 pounds and have the hottest gearset around.
Then again, hardtops look kind of weak on stock ap1 wheels.
