Default 2nd gear problems

Hi all. I just purchased an 05 and I'm having problems with second gear. When I'm cruising to a stop the car pops into neutral. Car has about 350 miles. It gets better as I drive the car, but as soon as i turn off the car for ten minutes and start it up again it does the same thing. Any ideas?

Thanks

hmm.. Does it happen when you are decelerating?
my 04's 2nd gear poped out to neutral when I was slowing down( with no gas)...

well.. my salesman told me he had another 04 customer having same problem..
anyway.... They fixed my transmission under warranty...

I'm getting that 2nd gear grind in my '04. It even does it sometime after it's been warmed up and I quickly slam it into second. It get embarrasing sometimes. Is that warranty work too? I know that seems to be a common problem, but what do they do to fix it?

The warranty should work.

Only under deceleration with no gas.
Did they give a new tranny or just a fix? I'm not very happy about this

No offense but maybe that's the problem?

The S2000 has one of the slickest shifters on the market and there is absolutely NO reason to "slam" it into gear. I've found that my car does best when I simply prod the shifter in the direction I want it to go. If I keep a solid grip on the shift leaver and try to force things, that's when I miss shifts or experience the infamous 2nd gear grind. I used to get the 2nd gear grind fairly regularly when the car was cold. At 9600+ miles, I rarely get it, cold or otherwise, and when I do get it, I generally know it's something I got sloppy with.

Steve R.
