2nd Gear Grind
#1
Does the recall mean that even tho there is no grinding problems with your car, you can still take it into the dealer and have them change it. Does the recall go for all the 2000 S2000. So let say if there is nothing wrong with the Gear right now, and after 2 1/2 years there is still nothing wrong, but I bring it into the dealer, do they still have to replace the clutch and everything.
Thanks for your help

"Don't try to fix what's not broken."
I had the 2nd gear grind until Honda fixed it. But now the clutch does not grab 2nd gear as hard. What happened? Who knows.

I have to go along with the Don't fix what ain't broke theory. If you have never had the grind it is probably a good idea to not have some tech with limited experience working on rear wheel drive transmissions playing around with your car. If you have the grind it is worth the risk.
Most people who have it (myself included) experienced it early on. I don't believe it is a wear issue. JMHO YMMV

BTW it is a service bulletin not a recall. If you don't have the grind, they don't have to fix it. (thought most dealers have been good about taking the owner's word on it) I don't know how much luck you will have trying to get your clutch replaced after 2.5 years.
