Anyway, since the discussion of the new car was in an article about 2008 cars, Sam may have meant that 2008 was the last year. He just said it would depart "by the end of the year" and the replacement would be a 2009 model.
Even if Honda is still selling "leftover" 2007s as 2008s to run off the inventory, I still think this story is true. The S2000 does not sell well when compared to the Miata and the GM twins. From an international mass producer's point of view, the S2000 is the sports car party that no one came to.
