Thumbs down 2006 S2000 costing $700 more ?

I saw this info on an Autoweek magazine yesterday. They have a new car buying guide section and for the Honda they show the picture of the Laguna Blue with the MSRP of $33,850(EST)... since Honda web site list their 2005 S MSRP of $33,150...so it a $700 different.

You thought they were going to give you "drive by wire" and stability control for free?

Seems reasonable since they've added the stability control and DBW systems in addition to a few other things.

I figured the price would goes up. But if the DBW system sucks I am buying the 05 instead. The wheels and the new seat I can try to live with. But with the lag (DBW) and charching me $700 for the priviledge I don't think so.

Instead of having a throttle cable attaching the accelerator pedal and the throttle, there is position sensor. The sensor determines what you are doing with the accelerator pedal and a servo system adjusts the actual throttle to make the change. This allows the VSA (vehicle stability assist) to control the throttle as well when it deems necessary.

Price of the 05 was $200 more than the 04's as well. Although, I think that one had to do more with the economy than anything else. The only difference I know of is that zip tie around the map sensor.

But it was a gold plated zip tie.
