After all this bashing of the '06, owning one might be an invitation to getting your head kicked in by owners of earlier models.
The simple fact is that the S2000 was (and remains) the killer car in its price range. The folks who don't like the screaming engine or the spartan accomodations were never interested in the first place.
the S2000. Honda.

Right on.
4 years+ for me, and I'm sick of all the whining about the changes every year... as well as the ones who say "good - then my cars value will go up". Always good to be a cheap bas**** at the expense of every other owner on the planet. And to put a dead stop on the aftermarket.
Reality is that this car will come to an end sometime after the next few years, for lots of reasons including the absurd European pedestrian standards. Lets enjoy all flavours of the car - 2000 thru 2009, while we still have them.
BTW, I used to have the same Prodrives on mine. *Great* looking on the car, and a perfect fit. Too bad The Tire Rack discontinued them, they were perfect in every way. And there is no replacement from them in the proper size and especially width. Somebody must still sell them...?

The 06 S2000 is okay. It's probably going to be a little softer than what I'm used to (I have a 2000 S2K). It would have been nice if they had the option for a navigation system like the 06 Si. As for the DBW, Honda tends to do things right so it should be responsive.
If Honda wanted to sell alot of these cars then they would make an automatic version. I get that question all the time! It's a fun car with racing heritage that is limited in production...and it's cheap ($34,xxx)! As it stands, every two years there's a change. In 08 I'd like to see a turbo, but I'm not holding my breath.

^ I'd be interested in your comparison (or anyone else's who has an '00) of the '00 and the '06, if you get a chance to test drive the '06. I've toyed with the idea of upgrading at some point. Probably won't be anytime soon....I love my car and it's running great. Of course if they get Moonrock here, that might change my mind!
