We'll have to see how the 06 really drives. This is similar to the electronic debate in F1. The older racers in F1 like and prefer less electronics, the young guys was raised up with electronic aids so to bring F1 back to have more driver skill, electronic aid reductions are scheduled for 2008.
I prefer less electronic interference with my driving inputs. If I mash the gas, I want instant respone, not a slight delay for the computer to figure what I really want to do with the car. The stability and handling around corners is what is challenging in the 00-05s. Honda gave us a great design with high cornering grip potential, then it is up to the driver to master and learn the limits of cornerning threashold. It is a challenge to get to your personal limit in cornering. VSA will give a false sense of security. The driver's nature of the 00-05 car demanded respect. When you sit in the cockpit, your brain has to be alert and ready for take out. This alertness and concentration matched with instant and connected feedback from the car is what made the 00-05 a "driver's car". Personally, anything that takes this connected feel away from what I feel with my 2002 would be a step in the wrong direction when it comes to driving preference. "Driving is a skill, that skill should be used".
Until some people drive the 2006, the jury will be out.

I don't think DBW in a manual transmission car will be too bad, because it's fine in sport shift mode in my automatic transmission car. I'm sure it really depends on the computer that calculates throttle position though.

I can't believe people are whining so much... if you got a pre-06 quit whining.. its not like Honda is forcing you to trade in yours for an 06. Not to mention I keep hearing the whining about VSA.. HELLO you CAN turn it off.
