looks like it could be handy for my cell phone. I don't have a dell phone holder and if I store it on the console it's always on the way of my shifting.

You must have a big cellphone. Get one of those grip pads the Japanese put on their dash to hold their cigarettes.

I use the grip pad for my phone. It holds it in place even under aggressive driving. Very cool and cheap solution.
