Default 2005 S2000 Price

Hey guys I am new to this forum just wanted to see what you guys think of my impending purchase. I just sold my Mazda Miata and am moving on the the S2000. I am about to buy a 2005 S2000 its silver and has 20180 miles on it. Have to buy it from a dealer outside of the state but with shipping and all fees the price is 18887 dollars. What do you guys think would this be a good price for a car of this caliber. I have had a friend drive the car and have had a mechanic shop look at the car too. They said the car is in great shape. also have a carfax on it which is clean also. thanks for any advice.

KBB Private Party:

Excellent $18,825
Good $17,775
Fair $16,425

Seems like a great price shipped from a dealer if the car is in good shape, good tires, etc.

Yeah, you can't ask for a much better price from a dealership, but it never hurts to try and work them down But especially for the fact that you said that's out the door...goooood price.

I paid 16.9 for my 04 with 11,500 miles just recently I would probably offer them 17500 for that 05

So how is my 2002 only worth $11K with 32K miles and mint shape? a car 2 or 3 years newer with the same miles can't be worth $6-7K more. I certainly would buy an AP1 all over again if that was the case.

Try running a 2002 on the KBB site with different mileages. It's interesting that they put the same value on any 2002 with 100 miles through about 50,000 miles:

Excellent $12,975
Good $12,175
Fair $11,200

At 60,000 miles it starts to go down:

Excellent $12,425
Good $11,625
Fair $10,650

From an actual value perspective, if a 50k 2002 is worth $13k, then a 30k 2002 should be worth more, say $14k. The KBB numbers work out great for a buyer right now if you can find an extremely low mileage 2002 and a cooperative seller.

Good price I'd say or pretty good.

I paid just over 17k for my 05 and it was flawless with just over 22k miles
