The hardtop cuts the noise and enhances the style of a beautiful car. As for Britney's status ... with her style and noise, the world would be better off is she had remained a virgin.

Boy do I feel lucky! I had ordered a hardtop from a dealer and was told a week later that they were not available, that they might be able to get one around July 2006. Cancelled that order and called Hardtop Guy who had a Silverstone top coming in a week later. I received my hardtop one day before the first message came out regarding unavailability. I have not installed it yet, but set it on the car, and it looks awesome from every angle. Extra rear glass will make winter driving a lot safer and the "character" lines in the top of the roof really adds some flair. Couldn't be happier.

I got my S in January 05 and got my hardtop on EBay in March. Mine is on the car most of the time. Although topless driving is less convenient than with the electric soft top, the reduced noise, improved rear-window visibility, insulation from outside temperature, security and classy look are each sufficient justifications for purchasing the OEM hardtop. I hope your experience is a good as mine and sincerely hope that the OEM hardtops remain available so that other S-enthusiasts can discover that you can have, what feels like, another car for the price of a hardtop.

Reviews done by car mag testers are not "real world" daily impressions. They drive the crap out of the cars they test because that's all the time they have with the cars. In the real world, the hardtop keeps out the MOST intrusive noise of all - WIND! I think for this discussion, someone who has access to a decibel meter, should mount the thing at driver's ear level and go for all kinds of driving scenarios - sedate driving, "cop magnet" driving, top up, top down, with hardtop. Then we'll see true data. I'm going to guess that wind noise during spirited driving will far exceed any mechanical noise a stock S2000 will make. Just giving "impressions", we don't tend to give much credit to wind noise as this is something "natural", but when we hear mechanical noise, it's "OH MY GAWD, WHAT'S THAT?"
