How much is the factory hardtop weight anyway? because you can get the real mugen hardtop (not CF one) for around $2800 and it weights 44 lbs. I also think it looks better than the factory one. IMHO.
That doesnt mean its cheaper.. Its actually more expensive to actually paint it and install.

OEM is about $2600 ready to go.

Mugen FRP is $2800 plus tax, plus shipping, and another $500-$600 to paint it so when its all said and done its close to $4000.

So OEM is the cheaper more reasonable route to go..

I don't! (IMHO)
Besides, it's got no rear glass, no rear defroster and is the inside even finished? I don't think so. Also, it comes with no mounting hardware. Guess how much that's gonna cost you from Honda?

chris, no offence, but I always have a smile when I see you quote your $$$!

oem hardtop (from hardtopguy) is $2995 + ~$300 shipping
Mugen hardtop (from king) is $2800 + ~$300 shipping

There is NO TAX on either if purchased out of state.

You have to paint the mugen top - but cmon - $500-600???
In another thread, you mentioned you could get a whole car painted for $800. I personally can get the mugen painted for $250

So, OEM is $3295 and Mugen is $3350
I may be off a little here and there, but I think thats a more realistic difference than the $1400 you quoted!

What about the install kit?

And yes, the Mugen HT is NOT finished on the inside.

I don't really like ANY hardtop, but I like the OEM one better than the Mugen one.

Don't forget that the mugen top doesn't come with glass in the back right? That' like an extra $40 for plexi from Home Depot

Either way, mugen does cost more and I still think it looks better. I probably never get a ht for mine since I bought it for it's roadster appeal.

Your getting wrong information. Its 100% the opposite. My car is 10 times quieter with the top.
