Is the 2004 S2000 a poorer performing car than the previous model on curves
I have been researching the S2000 car for the past two months on various websites. According to my research many of the drivers expressed that they miss the last 1000 RPM in the 2004 model. In certain circumstances one has to shift with the new model whereas this could be avoided with the older one.
Also the fatter tires reduces the nimbleness of the new car. Is this true? Could anyone who has been driving both the models validate these facts?

Your gonna get alot of different opinions on this: mine is NO, the cars are about as equal as you can get. The 04 is a little easier to drive, while the 00 to 03 is a little more race carish, IMO!

The reality is that at our autocross events, when driven by a past 6 time national champion, the '04 is faster, and has been every time. I know it doesn't appear so on paper, but the clock doesn't lie.

Doubt it. While I haven't driven an '04, my guess is that it may feel softer creating an illusion that it is not performing that well, but really is.
I think that sounded kind of dumb...
The less rpms don't have much of an effect with its performance on curves

I think it is worse if you don't get an alignment on the 04. Mine pushed bad. Got the allignment and she is great.
After alignment, they are about the same....a little bit worse as the Re050s are not as sticky as the S02s.
I'm running a Cusco 3 piece system and a spoon X-brace.....Huge difference!
I'd say it was a toss-up though(minus the go-fast parts).

PS. I had to post here as there was just too much SEC here.
