Keep in mind that putting lower-profile seventeen inch tires on an otherwise unchanged car would result in more impact harshness -- Honda would need to soften the initial suspension travel in order for the 2004 model's ride to simply match the 2003's.

Rouger ride with the new rims/tires calls for softer suspension to equal the same ride feel of the previous models. For an overall softer car the suspension will need to go even softer due to the new wheels.

I think this is going to be like the old {99-00} Honda Civic Si and the new {02-03} Honda civic Si, everyone wants the old one, and no one wants the new one. Buy 03's while they last.

According to Car&Driver a couple months back...the '04 susp will "not be as rough as current model", which I take to mean softer, less track ready.
It will be quite interesting to compare 1st hand!

Remember guys, if Honda is making a change to this car is for a reason, and the reason is not to make the car worse but to help the car were it needs it the most . SgtSaunders, the 2004 S2000 will not be as rough an it will have a softer suspension because it will sport 17' rims not 16's. I'll be setting by the window, waiting for the first 2004 S2000 "Rio Yellow" to show up.
