Then you are only bidding what you think an s2000 is worth to you with the mileage being irrelevent.

Don't forget you'll have to replace the tyres, They are too old to be fit for use on a performance car,

I paid A$30,000, [cars are a bit more expensive in Oz], for a 2001 S2k, about 20 months ago, because it had only 27,000Km on it, [about 16000 miles]. Most of this was in the first few years, with about 100Km per year for the last 5 years.

I changed all fluids, & the tyres, & have now put a further 15000Km on it. I know I will loose more on this when I sell it, but it is nice to own a near new S2k, & have trouble free motoring.

The tires and a complete service has been performed by a Honda dealer as I mentioned. Not sure what a complete service was however.

I say the Honda dealer buys it and puts it on the showroom floor... not for resale unless some crazy offer comes along.

The sale is next Thursday.
I agree it would be a good idea for a Honda dealer to buy it. We'll see.

No one knows. Cars aren't typically good investments unless they're rare exotics.

Depends on the dealer. Service departments vary quite a bit. That's precisely why I skip the 4 closest Honda dealers and only use the 5th closest (when needed).

It is a normal car and you can certainly use the standard pricing guides as a starting point.

Fair price is between $22k-$25k, although, as someone mentioned, the "premium" for a car having 10K less is hardly $1K these days, so do the math.

A 1-owner, well maintained/spotless '04 S2K with 20K miles goes for <$20K, so I'm not sure that I would want to pay $5K+ for the value of a (virtually indestructible) VTEC engine having <1K miles in it.

I feel that $22K-$23K is probably top price for a private buyer.

Miles are one thing, you just add them to a car with time. Its still an 8 year old car and the 06+ models offer improvements for the money.

$20-22k is about where I'd cap myself in an auction.
