Arrow is a 2003 worth 12k with 106km

hi all.

I'm dreaming of my future s2000 since a while now, and there is a guy how's selling his 2003 for $12500. But it has 106k miles.

is it worth it or to much miles/$$$ ?

thanks.

Honestly man you cant really say what its worth without seeing it in person and knowing the condition of the car and how it was taken care of

Dont go for high mileage cars especially AP1s. My 03 had 41k miles and in two days of owning it 2 retainers went and with them went the motor.

For 1k more I got an 02 with 18k miles on it and the car was mint. All I paid was 21k.

i think your case is an exception to the norm.

the previous owner might've purposely sold you a car with an engine problem.

There's alot of factors when you tlalk about mileage. 10K driven like hell is probably worse than freeway 30k miles.

I definitely agree with you. It depends on condition of the car and service records. 21k is pretty steep for either model/mileage s2000 you compared. At 21k, you can look at an ap2 instead with low mileage.

The car itself looks like it has been kept in great shape. Might be a different story though with the mechanics, but if everything he says IS true, a decent price. For a couple more grand though, you can find much better deals. I would not say this is a deal breaker by any means. Be patient, you will find something better.

Go have a look at it.. I've seen Civic Coupes with 200k on them that are in better condition mechanically and aesthetically than ones with 80k on them.

The car looks to be in great shape from the pictures. I'd almost certainly pay $12k for it assuming it has service records and runs properly.

edit: the floormats and seat bolsters are in better shape than my car, and mine has under 60k miles on it. The "highway mileage" claim seems pretty true...

In this picture:

You see the fake vent has been painted. This may indicate that it had been in a wreck, and then repainted (or one of the owners did not like them black). But who's to say? You may try to get a car fax of some sort. Still a pretty good deal. Gook luck!!!

Easy to tell though. See if the VIN sticker is missing from the front bumper. If it's missing or doesn't match the VIN of the car, the bumper may have been replaced. Next check the VIN on the front fenders. If they match, the accident could not have been very bad.

I've had the front bumper of my Prelude repainted three times when I owned it, all due to stupidity of people / things gently hitting it.
