2003 tranny problem - pops out of 4th gear while driving

Hi all:
I don't think this is a bent shift fork thing, this car only has 500 miles on it. I've looked at a lot of shift forks and have not found one bent. It's easy to "read" the parts.
I think that this is another "tolerance stacking" thing.
We did have a few of this symptom in the '02 MY, supposed to be fixed for '03. This trans will go back for analysis like slalom said.

Ron, I wouldn't worry about having the dealer replace the tranny but if the car is only 12 days old maybe they should exchange it for a new one (although I doubt they would).
Ask about getting a free extended warranty for your troubles.

To everyone that responded. I had to get a bit upset about this issue. I wanted the car replaced. After more effort than I wanted to apply, I negotiated a settlement with the dealer and Honda. I am accepting the transmission replacement but Honda had to give me a 7 yr 100k warranty (and some other minor things). The new transmission is here and my car will be down for a day. Its tough to be without this car for any amount of time during a Minnesota summer. We only have about 10 nice days.

Wow, take the tranny when you can. I wish they offered tranny replacements for 1st to 2nd grinds.
Woodwork, stacking tolerance problems, can you explain this?
Also, would you have any guesses as to why MY02' and 03's still have the 1st to 2nd grind?
