SilverS2KAZ,

You know it takes a man to admit when he is wrong and you have obviously not attained that status yet. You talk as if you are 16-18 years old and your Mommy and Daddy bought you the car which is fine and dandy.

Blah, blah blah, whatever. I own a 2002, so again personally, it makes no difference to me what a 2000 or 2001 sells for these days.
Blah, blah, blah who cares if you own a 2002. It does make a difference to you what a 2000 or 2001 sells for these days because you were the first one to bring that up in your reply.

The post stated that every s2k is selling for invoice now. This is NOT true. It's a rumor, it's BS and someone needs to put a stop to these blanket BS statements with no factual evidence, and it may as well be me.
Now I am convinced you haven't graduated high school yet and that you really need to sign up for some remedial reading classes. Go back and read Thoe's first reply which, I just checked, hasn't been edited yet. Are you on some good Arizona Peyote because I don't see where he said "every s2k is selling for invoice now." Honestly, someone needs to put a stop to your blanket BS because you are really starting to look like an angry dumbarse.

The funniest part about that thread is that he posted it only half a month or so after getting the car. Suddenly it's "we owners" against "enthusiast." This guy is exactly the type of "owner" that reminds me that this forum isn't perfect. Maturity isn't always a given.

I got my '03 Silverstone for $30,600, less than a grand over invoice.

I paid MSRP (32.4K) after shopping around in Jun. '02, but I had to wait a while to get Suzuka. Dealers in Beantown were asking way above MSRP at the time. I had negotiated for Spa at under MSRP, but I wanted Suzuka.

It sure seems some folks are getting good deals this winter.

If you're not an owner yet, now seems like the time to buy! The demand of rabid owners has perhaps been saturated over 3 model years, the competition is fierce (you might not consider the 350Z or Z-4 competition, but lots of potential buyers do), and the economy sucks eggs...

It's all good for newbies. I would offer that most current owners didn't buy these cars as investments. Some do baby their cars, but I think the majority on this board drive 'em! Amen!

I paid $32,000 even for my '03 spa yellow in November. They had a blue '03, but wanted a $1,000 more. I've heard a lot of prices for the invoice, but I have an invoice paper. The invoice for my '03 was $28,807.47. I don't think anyone is buying an '03 for that price. A $1,000 more maybe.

Yeah in jersey and ny it's at least a few hundred maybe even 1k over invoice.
Maybe upstate ny is lower, but may not be worth my time to go up and get it.

Prices are down in the north (ohio) because all the dealers still have one or two '02 model years on the lot. We need to move them to be able to hold the price later. I have one 03 here with 3 02s!!

Wega,

We often talk about the VTEC power range of the car, but the low end is really not bad. Big block V8 aficionados won't be thrilled, but I've driven 4-bangers most of my life I was impressed from day-1 with the car. If there's one word to sum up the S2000, in my opinion, it's "responsive." Immediate everything, just like a sports car should be.

The thing with VTEC is that once you start driving in that range, you tend to really stay there. It's a very visceral thing, with the engine screaming bloody murder (but in a good way ). I was reluctant to flirt with redline for the first few months I had the car, but I've been really enjoying VTEC since then.

Anyway, best of luck. Hawaii's probably an expensive place to own an S2000 (and you'll probably not be able to get such a great deal), but I hope you join us!
