Default 2003 M.s.r.p.

I went to my local dealer today to get a price for an 03. M.S.R.P. is 33.060.00 he said his bottom line discount price is 32.299.00 Has anyone else here been quoted any prices on 03's below M.S.R.P.? I was hoping to get a price closer to 30k. I know I can get an 02 for that now but my money is tied up until April. If anyone is looking they have a berlina black 02 that just came in that they want 30.255 for. It has 37 miles on it. Dealer is Shearer Honda in Rutland VT.

If someone knows where you can get an 03 for under MSRP this time of year,I'd get on a train, plane, ship or whatever other means of transportation necessary and go buy it if I were you.

If I were able to buy now I would go with an '02 for 30k. I plan on keeping this car for a long time so I am not worried about resale.

Why worry about who will discount now if you can't buy until April?

Any lead we gave you now will likely not be available when "Convertible season" in the spring comes along anyway. I would say you CAN get an '03 for $30k - if you wait until about this time next year. Come spring, getting a few bucks off is likely all you can do.

I am figuring on ordering ahead of time so car will be in by April. Dealer I spoke to today said I shouldn't wait until any later than late Jan. to order so I will be ordering my car in the middle of winter. I asked this question knowing that this board is an excellent source to get prices from all over the country. When I go to order the car in Jan. if I have some other dealer price quotes I can use them to see if the dealer will match them. Basically I am thinking ahead. I want to get all this done now as I don't have much free time in the winter. As far as waiting till this time next year NO WAY I feel like I have been waiting forever already!

No problem, Robb.

I don't know about "ordering" a car - I have been told by a couple of different dealers that Honda dictates when they get an S2000 and the color. They can TRY to change the color but there is no guarantee. If you are flexible about the color, this should not be a problem. But if you want a rare combo, then they may not be able to get it when you want it. The dealers do know in advance (maybe 2 months before the car shows up) what they are getting. So you are correct in that you want to start finding the right color in advance. Most end up sold by the time they come in, but more and more (it seems) are hitting the showroom floor unsold.

The other thing to think about, given where you live limits the number of dealers. For example, if you find a dealer in TN (for example) that would save you some bucks it would not be worth either driving your new car nor shipping it back to VT.

Is that with options? According to Honda's website, MSRP is $32600

Dennis I specifacally asked the sales manager about ordering the car in the color I want. He said the dealer will order the car from Honda and Honda will ask them what color they want. Regardless before I put a dime down I am going to get all this in writing as I want to make sure I get exactly what I want. Peace Love and s2k both dealers near me quoted 33.060 msrp. The dealer I went to today said the only extra charge is 65.00 for paperwork. I asked him 4 diffrent times to make sure.

The $460 difference is the destination charge.

What color combo did you decide on?
