Default 2002 model production starts?

Hi there

I have a silver s2k on order (importing from holland)
which is due for delivery in November.

Does anyone know when 2002 model production
starts (has it already?). Am I likely to get the
new model with the glass r/window

cheers

It does appear that production has already started and cars will be shipping anytime now. There are quite a number of us on the board who have ordered and are waiting for 2002's.

Ted, were you the second shipment??
My dealer said the second one was due around Nov. 10th or so.
They said they are getting 1 for Oct. and 1 for Nov.
After that, they might get 3 or 4 a month

Andylong,

I ordered a 2001 model in August, have a delivery time for January now. I phoned the dealer (mine was in Belgium) direct and he confirmed that I ordered the 2001 model but as mine was not being built till Nov/Dec that I would be on the 2002 production line. I have this information signed and faxed to me.

May be best to phone the dealer or any middle company you may be using to ask them.

2002 = glass rear
2001 = no glass rear.

Best to phone them I reckon, some people have to have the last of the 2001 models, it may be you if you dont check.

Often.

I also wanted to order a 2001 model in August (24th), but was told that I was too late to order the 2001.

Since I didn't want to order the 2002, my dealer found another dealer that already had one on order and they arranged a dealer trade for the 2001 car that I wanted. I am hoping that I can pick it up this coming week! Five weeks is a long time to wait for this car!

Well, I think that a minor miracle has happened today.....my red S2000 is sitting in my driveway! Yeah!

Five weeks does seem like a long time, but it was worth every minute.

I'm really pleased with the car and I think that the engine, for what it is has plenty of torque. It has more top gear acceleration than a certain Probe GT I had recently and I'm happy. Besides, I have plenty of gears to downshift to, if I want to fly.
