As much as I would like to believe that there will be no more S2Ks, it makes no logical sense to reckon this way. Honda is a company, as someone mentioned before, interested in making a profit. Why discontinue something that is making the company a ton of money? Just look at the profits on the vehicle. Yes I know it's like comparing apples and bread , but would Bill Gates ever stop producing MS Windows products?
Just my opinion

I agree on the point of discontinuing the S2000 altogether, but I keep hearing that it was a commemorative kind of thing for Honda's 50th anniversary, and that the car will be re-introduced as an Acura. I guess we will all see when the time comes. Kevin

Ugh...not that I am an authority on this topic, but having met the two leading S2000 engineers from Honda in person and two of the leading S2000 engineers from Mugen (a company very intimate with Honda) in Tokyo in June, I can tell you that unless they lied to us, the S2000 is going to be made for many MANY years to come. The Honda engineers didn't give us a specific number, but our friends at Mugen said that it's at least a 10 year run, quite similar to the NSX run.

And the Honda engineers said there are NO PLANS TO STOP PRODUCTION of the S2000. As I said, they could have been lying to us, but I rather doubt that...

Will there be changes along way? Sure there will be. But all this speculation that you guys have posted here is pulled outta yer keesters!

I should have ignored it, but I couldn't...just stop with all the crazy rumors!

Check this post for the facts...

I love these threads.

Firstly, it's well known that MY2000 was the last year for the S2000. Everything since have been Civics with body kits.

And the whole Acura thing. Did you US guys know that you are the only ones gullible enough to fall for that? It's a badge!! They are still Honda. In AUS I can buy a HONDA NSX (well I could if I had a spare $160K ).

And there is a huge difference between 'production', and 'importing'. If AHM stop importing a car that doesn't mean Honda doesn't make it. There is a fairly civilised world outside of the US you know. You oughtta check it out sometime. Leave your guns behind.

AusS2000, where is this world you speak of? It sounds fascinating...I must visit. I'll bring some extra guns for you and your unarmed friends.

...and why do these things usually originate from low (<10) post accounts?

If I was just stirring the pot, I'd make a dum-dum account to pulpit from too.
