2001 Yellow or Silver?
#13
I don't think anyone can say what to do till they've seen the yellow in person. ( I haven't).
Without seeing the silverstone in person I don't think I would have been excited about buying one. I've seen lots of silver or grey cars that don't exactly inspire any kind of excitement or passion. But the silverstone is unlike any silver or grey I've seen before. It is an exciting color to look at.
So I'd say try not to make up your mind till you can see what the yellow looks like. I'm glad I got to see the silverstone otherwise I would have ended up with one of those other colors, and we all know silverstone is the best.

Fading shouldn't be a problem as all the S2K's are clearcoated. My red Miata, now that was a car that faded. The yellow is actually Spa Yellow Pearl and according to the dealer sales manager who has seen one it really looks good. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the colors however. There is not a bad color on this car.

Where are you located????
I am tracking the arrival of 2001 S2000s across the country so that I will know when to expect mine in Southern Virginia.

I am in SoCal and my dealer is Norm Reeves in Cerritos.
I guess I'll go for yellow. For those of you still waiting the silver one has already been sold..
And Ben, thank you, I fit under the category of early twenties or younger (no flames please, I had to work too hard and make too many sacrifices for this car) and I know that this will be my last chance to do something this irrational.
Besides there are already 3 silver and 1 red within 5 mile radius of my home.
Just hope I can get through this last few weeks, then I'll know that it was worth it.

Ray. You sound like a very sensible guy who's got his priorities right.
I'm sure it's not going to make any difference to you what the color is on the day you finally get to see the S2K that you're going to own (once you've done the paperwork). You're going to be so happy anyway.
You'll probably find that after a short while, you'll be so in love with the yellow (and the car), you won't regret it.
Hope you enjoy the ride!

Why should age have anything to do with color choice. I'm 42. I think the yellow is gorgeous. It's also a new color so there won't be as many like it around town. Wish I could afford to buy the new 2001 Gold Wing. It's also offered in yellow this year.
