2001 s2k better than 2000 s2k
some of u may know that i totalled my black s2k and recently got a yellow 2001 s2k, anyway, i wanted to make a note that i feel a definite difference in the way the two cars drive. the 2001 is definitely a lot smoother (my brother agrees with me). by this i mena that the clutch action is imo lighter and smoother, the uptake of gears is less clunky, the shift is smoother also and the throttle response is more direct, i use to have problems, well not really probelms, but it would jerk more when i changed gears.
i can only put it down to the fact that the 2000 s2k had 180 kms on it and was taken out 6/7 times for test drives, maybe the caned it.
anyway, my feeling is that the 2001 may have ironed out some of the niggling gearbox problems such as grinds etc. any one else have this experience

My dealer told me that they were having quite a few gearbox and clutch problems with the MY2000 s2ks. He said that honda had fixed them for the MY2001 s2ks, but every so often I feel something like a kickback when I shift it into 2nd gear. Is that normal for 01 s2ks?

Here's a thread that us Houstooks posted a while back on the same subject.

There is a definite difference in the clutch feel between the 2000 and 2001. The same goes for the Pre-TSB 2000 and Post-TSB 2000. The Post-TSB 2000 and 2001 are virtually identical.
As far as performance goes, I don't think any changes have been made to make the 2001 better than the 2000.

I can't tell the difference between mine. Maybe it was because there was a week between driving the '00 and the '01. The only difference I can tell is that the '01 doesn't sound like a bucket of bolts when decelerating.
